N2N Gallery is extremely pleased to invite all aspiring and established artists in Abu Dhabi to work with and
learn from the Crimean artist Olga Grigorieva-Klimova, finely educated from the Crimean Art College and
the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. She lives and works in Crimea and since 2007, she has
actively participated in the republican (Crimean), Russian and all of the Ukrainian exhibitions. Her works are
displayed in the Kiev Museum of Modern Art, as well as kept in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, the
United States of America, Taiwan, Poland, Romania, China, Switzerland and Great Britain.

The professional approach of the master class is designed to acquaint and deepen knowledge of the basic
principles of painting, drawing, composition, tonal and colour relations. You will work from scratch and that
will allow you to master the understanding of the whole vision of nature or any image. As a background for
the portrait, you will use an abstract coloured acrylic substrate inculcating your ideas of colours and colour
combinations with appropriate guidance and suggestions from the master.(You may also choose to work
with a plain or a background of your choice.) Under the gentle guidance of the artist, you shall then focus
on observing and getting the knowledge of the basic elements of creating a portrait. You will pay attention
on the proportions, and the coordination of the eyes with your hand holding the brush. You shall learn how
to build a composition, to select and use the colour palette and apply the paint. You will come out of the
master class knowing how to independently compose a portrait from sketch to the final artwork. Everyone
can work on their own level and under a coherent guidance of the artist you will be able to go beyond your
own expectations.

According to Olga, an ideal portrait shouldn’t be identical to a photograph, but should also depict the
individual’s emotions and insight and this not just depends on learning the techniques of painting, but also
on the interaction of the artist with the person. Olga thrives to liberalize herself and her students of the
cliché of their inherent artistic prejudices and incorporate their portrait’s comprehension with honesty and
integrity.

Olga’s art is not just extraordinary, but precarious and remarkable! As a humble artist, she doesn’t limit
herself in any strata of medium or ideas and thus allowing her to create the miracle in her works. We
indubitably believe in her art and absolutely expect an enlightening and distinctive experience for our
students.

The culmination of the course will be a final masterpiece, which will be exhibited as a part of a
group exhibition in the N2N Gallery on the graduation day!
